Unit 1 – Electrostatics Overview

3. Electric Field

E = F/q; point charge ke liye E = kq/r². Field lines: +ve se bahar, cross nahi karti, closer lines = stronger field.

4. Electric Dipole

Dipole moment p = q×2a. Axial: E = 2kp/r³; equatorial: E = kp/r³. Torque τ = pE sinθ.

5. Gauss's Law

∮E·dA = qenc/ε₀. Applications: line charge E = λ/2πε₀r; plane sheet E = σ/2ε₀; sphere (outside) E = kQ/r². Board mein 5-mark derivation — steps skip mat karo.

Chapter 2 – Potential & Capacitance

Electric potential V = kq/r (scalar — signs ke saath add karo). Equipotential surface pe field perpendicular. PE of two charges U = kq₁q₂/r. Capacitance C = Q/V; parallel plate C = ε₀A/d; with dielectric C = Kε₀A/d. Series: 1/C = Σ1/Cᵢ; Parallel: C = ΣCᵢ. Energy U = ½CV².
